The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is and independent, non-profit, non-government organization that provides a standard setting, trademark assurance and accreditation service for companies and organizations interested in responsible forestry.

FSC guarantees not only that materials come from well managed forests, but also that each step of their production is monitored and traceable. From log sourcing to the sale, through transportation, storage, veneer cutting, clipping, dyeing and handling, it is possible to determine that a particular panel (used in a specific area of that project) was made using a genuine veneer which is guaranteed to be from an environmentally friendly origin.

TABU presents its new line MW ECOZERO® characterized by the presence of non-toxic components. Applied to the constitutive principles of multilaminar woods (MW), the new line MW ECOZERO® is the fundamental result of careful research, efforts and great engagement dedicated to the realization of methods more and more respectful of the health and the environment.

As a matter of facts, multilaminar veneers are usually produced with urea-formaldehyde based glues. These cheap glues release formaldehyde, an element that exists in nature at non toxic levels. Nevertheless IARC, International Agency for Research on Cancer, has recently classified formaldehyde as a carcinogenic substance, underlining that there is sufficient evidence that occupational exposure to formaldehyde is strictly related to cancer occurrence. Therefore TABU new line is totally formaldehyde-free.

The logo created for ECOZERO® is strongly symbolical of TABU devotion for the environment and harmony. From the line at the bottom of the logo, symbol of Mother Earth, a tree rises to the sky. It is the image of a connection between the sky and the Earth, that evokes their need to complete each others. Moreover, the tree, which continuously changes and springs up again and again, can be identified with the continuous change of life itself. Finally, a green circle drawn over the branches of the tree, symbol of the foliage, has, at the same time, the shape of a zero, and it is symbol of infinity. The zero underlines both visually and verbally the total absence of toxic elements in the new line.
